McDonald's Worker Fired After ‘Disturbing' Video Shows Him Throwing Water at Homeless Man

The video, which has been shared on a number of social media sites, has since been seen by millions

An employee at a Michigan McDonald's restaurant has been fired after video showed him luring a homeless man to the drive-thru with a sandwich, then throwing a cup of water in the man’s face.

The owner of the restaurant, who said he was "disturbed" by the video, said the "individual no longer works for my organization."

"I am very disturbed by the inappropriate behavior of this employee," McDonald’s franchisee Wise Finley said in a statement. "This type of behavior is not tolerated in my organization. I expect my employees to treat everyone with dignity and respect, and this was unacceptable."

The statement comes just days after the video was posted to the website Live Leak, generating more than 112,000 plays. It was also shared on World Star Hip Hop, where it received more than 440,000 views and on the Facebook page for Mediatakeout, where it garnered more than 3.8 million views.

According to the caption on Live Leak, the videographer says the move was "payback because the panhandler had earlier argued with a McDonald’s customer," but NBC Chicago could not independently confirm that information.
