Jury Selected in Fort Hood Shooting Trial

Trial to begin Aug. 6

A jury has been selected to hear the murder case against the Fort Hood shooting suspect.

The last of thirteen officers who will decide Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan's fate were seated Tuesday, after more than a week of jury selection.

Hasan is to go on trial starting Aug. 6.

He is charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder for the 2009 shooting rampage at the Army post in Central Texas.

He faces the death penalty if convicted of murder.

The Austin American-Statesman reports that the panel includes two officers who expressed skepticism about the death penalty, though they were not as opposed to capital punishment as two others dismissed Tuesday.
