Authorities say an ice fisherman was killed after falling through the ice on a frozen western Pennsylvania lake.
State police and the Armstrong County coroner's office say 56-year-old James Whitlinger of Avonmore was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon at Keystone Lake.
Coroner Brian Myers said a search began at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday after finding his equipment and holes bored in the ice but no one around.
County dispatchers said more than 70 emergency responders joined in the search of the 5-mile-long lake near Indiana County.
Myers said Whitlinger drowned about a half-mile south of the Atwood boat launch on the border of Plumcreek and Cowanshannock townships. The death was ruled an accident.
