Geese Defecate on Disneyland Parkgoers, Prompting HazMat Response

A total of 17 people -- 11 adults and six children -- were struck with what was "clearly goose poop," the Anaheim police said

Nearly 20 parkgoers at Disneyland on Friday night got a nasty surprise when a flock of geese defecated on them, prompting a response from a hazardous materials team.

The incident happened before 9 p.m. in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle as crowds were gathering for the nightly fireworks show, according to Darren Wyatt, an Anaheim Police Department spokesman.

It was initially reported that someone had thrown human feces on the group -- the reason a hazmat team responded, Wyatt said.

A total of 17 people -- 11 adults and six children -- were struck with what was "clearly goose poop," Wyatt said.

The guests were taken to an area to get cleaned up and Disneyland provided them with clean clothes.

Nobody was hurt.
