Father Accidentally Strikes, Kills Teen Son After Crashing Into Garage

Friends and family are mourning a Pennsylvania teen boy who police officials say was struck and killed after his father lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the garage of their Drexel Hill home.

The father lost control of the car and slammed into his garage on the 300 block of Cheswold Road around 8:30 p.m. Friday, according to police. The man’s 17-year-old son was standing near the garage when he was struck by the car.

Neighbors told NBC10 the teen was crushed against a wall. A witness tried to perform CPR but the teen later died from his injuries.

The teen's family declined to comment. Neighbors told NBC10 he was a student at Upper Darby High School and had a twin sibling. They also said his family recently moved to Drexel Hill from their native India.

Friends held a prayer vigil outside the teen's home on Saturday. Upper Darby Mayor Tom Micozzie also offered his condolences to the family on the Upper Darby Police Facebook page.

Officials continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
