D.C. Family Reprimands Pumpkin Thief With Public Sign

A D.C. family is going after a pumpkin thief in a very public way, and their reprimand has gone viral.

The family says someone stole their 2-year-old son's pumpkin right off their porch on U Street in northwest Washington.

On the sign, the family wrote, "To the person who stole my son's pumpkin: Thank you for the life lesson. This will help teach him that sometimes people are mean for no reason and you have to just brush it off. Because my son is 2-yrs-old and cannot read this sign, I will add: You are an [expletive].

The picture has almost 6,000 likes on Facebook and has been shared on Twitter hundreds of times.

The majority of people on social media appear to be in the parents' corner, but there are some who are worried about the message the note sends to children older than 2 who can read.
