People tweeted photos of cats with the hashtag #BrusselsLockdown after Belgian police urged residents not to disclose officers’ location during raids targeting terrorism suspects, NBC News reports.
Belgians began using the hashtag on Sunday after calls from the country’s Defense Minister Steven Vandeput not to report police’s movement on social media.
The hashtag was used about 170,000 times by Monday morning, with many of those featuring pictures of cats.
Brussels has been on lockdown since Saturday after a threat of a Paris-style attack.
