Boyfriend Arrested in Murder of NJ Teen Found Shot in Bedroom: DA

Aquilla Flood, 17, was found dead inside her bedroom in East Orange, N.J., authorities say

Authorities say they've arrested the 18-year-old man wanted in the murder of a teenage girl found shot dead inside her bedroom in New Jersey last week.

Al-Muqqadin Means of East Orange was taken into custody in Newark at about noon Monday, the Essex County District Attorney announced. Detectives from the Essex County prosecutor's office and members of the FBI Fugitive Task Forces assisted in the arrest.

Means is a suspect in the murder of 17-year-old Aquilla Flood, who was found dead of a gunshot wound in her bedroom Wednesday morning.

Friends who went to school with Means and Flood said the two were dating.

Aquilla's aunt, Naimah Hicks, told NBC 4 New York in a text message the family was "extremely happy to hear about his arrest" and said it brought closure to the family.

Means faces charges of murder and weapons offenses.

He's being held on $750,000 bail until his court appearance, which has not been scheduled. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
