4.6 Million Snapchat Users' Info Leaked After Hack

About 4.6 million Snapchat users' account information — including their usernames and phone numbers — appears to have been leaked after the popular photo-sharing app Snapchat was reportedly hacked.

Someone who claimed to be behind the reported leak posted the vast amounts of user data, with the last two digits of the phone numbers blacked out, on a website called SnapchatDB.info that went online Tuesday night, in an effort to raise public awareness of security holes in the Snapchat app, according to the site. "The company was too reluctant at patching the exploit until they knew it was too late, and companies that we trust with our information should be more careful when dealing with it," the site said, before the site went offline Wednesday.
