No Charges for Wisc. Officer in Unarmed Teen's Death

The state of Wisconsin will not pursue charges against Madison police officer Matt Kenny in the fatal March shooting of Tony Terrell Robinson Jr., an unarmed 19-year-old, a prosecutor announced Tuesday. "I conclude that this tragic and unfortunate death was the result of a lawful use of deadly police force and that no charges should be brought in the death of Tony Robinson Jr.," Ismael Ozanne, the Dane County district attorney, said. Robinson had multiple drugs in his system, and multiple told investigators he was jumping in front of cars and intimidating bystanders, Ozanne said. But Robinson's family challenged the decision, and the family's attorney raised questions about differences in Kenny's accounts of where he was when he fired the last of seven shots.
