Michael Brown Family Lawyer: “The Process Is Broken”

An attorney for Michael Brown's family said the lack of indictment of the white police officer who fatally shot the teen in Ferguson, Missouri, is a sign that the legal proceedings were flawed, NBC News reported. “This process is broken. The process should be indicted," Benjamin Crump said at the Tuesday news conference. Meanwhile, Rev. Al Sharpton said of prosecuting attorney Robert McCulloch: “I've never seen a prosecutor hold a press conference to discredit the victim." Michael Brown Sr. appeared at the news conference Tuesday wearing a T-shirt with the slogan, “No Justice No Peace,” but he did not speak. It was announced Monday night that Officer Darren Wilson would not be indicted over the shooting of the unarmed teen on Aug. 9, sparking violent protests and acts of civil disobedience in several U.S. cities overnight.
