A pedestrian was struck and killed in Lincoln Park Wednesday evening, San Diego police said.
At approximately 8:42 p.m., police responded to an emergency call off South 47th Street and Logan Avenue where they discovered a 55 to 60-year-old female pedestrian, according to police.
A pickup truck allegedly sped up to pass through a yellow light and struck the woman.
The driver did not stop but fled the scene and plowed into a home about a block away, causing minor damage to the house.
The driver and two passengers took off on foot. Witnesses called 911, but the victim was not breathing when paramedics arrived and they were unable to revive her. She was declared dead on scene.
Authorities initially detained a person, but he was later released.
At this point, it is unknown why he was released.
Police are still looking for two other people who were in the pickup who ran off after the crash.
