A woman suffered leg injuries Tuesday night after she was hit by a car, San Diego Police Department (SDPD) confirmed.
The incident happened around 8 p.m. on the 4000 block of Sports Arena Boulevard, just south of the Interstate 8.
SDPD says the driver of the vehicle called 911 and reported a woman had stepped in front of his car and he struck her.
According to the driver, the woman was laying in the street, bleeding from the mouth.
SDPD says the driver stayed at the scene.
Officers were at the scene for traffic control and are investigating.
The woman's injuries are considered to be major but her condition is unknown at this time.
No other information was immediately available.
