Woman in Wheelchair Has Close Call with Sprinter

A Sprinter train clipped the rear wheel of a woman's wheelchair Sunday, but the woman wasn't injured, according to a published report.

While getting off the train at the San Marcos Civic Center, the woman's wheelchair was clipped by a westbound Sprinter. Her chain stayed upright and she stayed seated in it, according to the North County Times.

One question remains why the woman was inside the area while the guard arms were down and the alarms were sounding. Investigators say she might have gone in before the warning and couldn't exit quickly enough, according to the paper.

The woman was not injured, but the wheel of her chair may have been damaged.
