Woman Drives Into Grantville Post Office

The site reopened, but will only accept cash for the time being, said USPS

A woman drove through the front window of a Grantville post office Tuesday afternoon after she hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal, the woman told first responders.

The post office at 4740 Mission Gorge Place was closed Tuesday after the incident, and was reopened Wednesday, according to the United States Postal Service (USPS).

The post office was already without Internet access because of the Del Cerro fire.

Phone and internet services will remain down until June 13, said AT&T.

Only walk-ins with cash will be allowed at the Grantville post office during this time, according to USPS.

No one was injured in the incident and the woman was able to get out of the car by herself.
