High Wind, Fire Warnings in Southern California's Forecast

Beachgoers should anticipate elevated surf and rip currents, the National Weather Service advises.

A high wind warning was issued Monday for the deserts east of San Diego County. 

Winds out of the west will increase to 25-35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph according to the National Weather Service.

A wind advisory was issued for areas west of the mountains. Gusts along the coast could reach 35 mph. 

The high winds and low relative humidity will create a very high fire danger for residents in Riverside and Imperial Counties. 

The NWS has issued a fire weather warning for southwest and south-central Arizona and the lower Colorado River Valley.

Beachgoers should anticipate elevated surf and rip currents, the National Weather Service advises. 

Surf was expected to peak Monday and Tuesday with sets up to 7-feet.
