Will Huston be Hitting the Street?

With the team out of contention and ownership in transition expect the Padres to be sellers at the trade deadline.

Street tipped his hat to fans during player introductions at the All-Star game. The Padres closer didn’t appear in the game. How many more appearances he makes in San Diego remains to be seen.  Street is one of a handful of Padres rumored to be on the trade block. With a record of 34-53 at the All-Star break the Padres will likely be sellers in what should be a very active trade market.

Street isn't the only player that could be on the move include power hitting outfielder Carlos Quentin and third-baseman Chase Headley. Pitchers Clayton Richard and Edinson Volquez might also be in different uniforms by the end of the month.  With the trade deadline just a few weeks away and ownership issues still unresolved, General Manager Josh Byrnes could very well move proven players for prospects.

The Padres begin the second half of the season Friday in Los Angeles against the first place Dodgers.
