When the Clouds Will Clear

It was another wet and gloomy start to the morning along the coast Thursday morning. But that is all about to change.

Things will be drying out and heating up, although there is still a threat of a few showers or some scattered sprinkles during the morning.

By noon, skies should start clearing inland and over towards the valleys, but the coastal strip should remain fairly cloudy most of the day. We can expect partly cloudy skies this afternoon with slightly warmer temperatures.

High temps will reflect the change as we top out in the mid and upper 60s at the beaches, 69 downtown and 71 in El Cajon.

Friday should be about 3-5 degrees warmer with plenty of sunshine following the morning fog.

Then on Saturday, big jump -- maybe 10 degrees or more in the warmest valleys, mountains and deserts.  At the coast we'll see 70s at the beaches for the weekend and hit 80 or higher downtown.

Sunday will be even warmer with a slight offshore flow. Then Monday, the high pressure starts to move on allowing cooler temperatures to return for most of next week.
