Firefighters responded Wednesday to a fire that was burning a two-and-a-half acre plot of land in an Encanto neighborhood Wednesday.
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews responded to the area near 69th Street and Imperial Avenue near Encanto Park just before 11 a.m.
At about 11:30 a.m., fire crews were able to stop the fire's forward movement. There were no injuries and no structures were damaged by the fire.

The fire was burning several acres within a neighborhood but crews were making quick work to ensure flames did not spread to homes. An exact acreage was not immediately available.
Heavy smoke surrounded the area but it was white, a good sign that firefighters had the fire under control.
