U.S. Marshals: Fugitive Sex Predator Extradited

A San Diego fugitive wanted on multiple counts of child molestation was extradited from Mexico today and booked into San Diego Central Jail, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Authorities had been looking nearly four years for Roy Mallett, a 32-year-old registered sex offender in California, said Deputy Toni Wheetley of the U.S. Marshals' San Diego office.

Mallet is alleged to have sexually molested a boy in his care from 2003 to 2005.

A felony warrant for Mallett's arrest was issued by the San Diego Superior Court in 2005. Last September, a provisional arrest warrant was issued by the Mexican government for Mallet, who was extradited from Tijuana.
