Unsettled Weather May Head West

Lightning in Escondido; hail in Pine Valley

San Diegans woke up to unsettled weather Tuesday morning, including dry lightning in Escondido, hail in Pine Valley and moisture in the mountains and deserts.

Even with sunshine, those in the west could experience some of the moisture traveling from the southeast if it continues to move west, said NBC 7’s Jodi Kodesh.

This could mean rain for the foothills in areas such as Ramona and Alpine.

Facebook followers reported thunder in Lakeside and rain in Borrego Springs.

Doppler radar indicated early Tuesday morning that severe thunderstorms were capable of producing high winds and hail in the east.

By Wednesday, weather should be drier, Kodesh said.
