Two Transported to Hospital Following Linda Vista Hazmat Incident

Two people were injured in a hazardous material incident Thursday in Linda Vista, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said.

A man and a woman were transported as trauma patients to Sharp Memorial Hospital after the San Diego Police Department responded to a call about a car with "something" inside, officials said.

The call came in around 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of Tait Street and Linda Vista Road, San Diego police Officer Billy Hernandez said.

When officers arrived, they found two people unconscious in the car that came to a stop at the street corner, partially blocking traffic lanes.

The San Diego County Hazardous Materials Division was called in to evaluate the car the two people were in, SDFD spokeswoman Monica Munoz said.

It was unclear what was in the vehicle.
