Two San Diego Companies Co-Winners of Samuel Adams Pitch Room Competition

Two San Diego companies, Deaf Man’s BBQ and FITzee Foods, have won the San Diego Pitch Room competition put on by a Samuel Adams program for small businesses.

As part of the Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream program, the Pitch Room is a national competition that helps small business owners improve their sales pitch. This was the second Pitch Room competition in San Diego, and the second of four regional events this year.

Deaf Man’s BBQ makes premium sauces, and FITzee Foods has a food prep service for healthy meals made from scratch with fresh ingredients.

Both will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Boston to compete in the national finals in December. The national winner receives a $10,000 grant and a year’s worth of mentoring from Sam Adams executives, including Jim Koch, founder of Sam Adams.

The San Diego Pitch Room winner from last year’s competition was Stenzelberry, which makes sweet fire jelly in interesting and complex flavors, according to a Sam Adams news release.
