An Alaska Airlines passenger was cited at Lindbergh Field on Wednesday morning after TSA officers found ammunition in his carry-on luggage, according to an Alaska Airlines spokesperson.
The airline confirmed they received this information from Nico Melendez, who’s with the TSA.
Melendez said the TSA found a loaded magazine with six rounds of .380-caliber ammunition inside a carry-on bag belonging to an Alaska Airlines passenger.
According to a Lindbergh Field airport supervisor, the incident occurred around 11 a.m. The man was given a citation and permitted to continue on with his flight as planned.
The airport supervisor said this is pretty much standard procedure when ammunition is found inside carry-on luggage. The citation did not carry a fine.
Airport reps said the incident did not cause any sort of security delay.
