A police pursuit in Chula Vista ended with the suspect driver crashing into a house in the 1200 block of Tobias Avenue around 2:30 Monday morning.
Chula Vista police arrested the driver he is suspected of DUI. He was partially ejected from the vehicle and was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. He has been identified as 30-year old David Garcia of Imperial Beach, according to Chula Vista police. Garcia was on probation for a previous DUI, police said.
No one else was injured. One woman was awakened by the crash.
The driver of the suspect vehicle caused major damage to the home's garage, a newer vehicle in the garage, a car in the driveway and a car in an adjoining neighbors driveway.
As a result of the crash, Garcia was pinned in his car and had to be extracted by firefighters who used a hydraulic tool to pry open his vehicle.
