Truck Crash Leads To Hazmat Clean Up

A HAZMAT crew has been requested for a diesel leak

A semi truck crash on northbound Interstate 805 Tuesday afternoon snarled rush hour traffic for several hours.

CHP officers said the driver lost control near the Sweetwater Road exit because of speed and wet road conditions.

The truck jumped a center divide before crashing into a column that supports an overpass for State Route 54.

A HAZMAT crew was called to the scene to clean up about 50 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled into a drainage ditch.

The workers completed the clean up shortly before 11 p.m.

The driver was not injured in the crash.
