Toreros Roll to Another PFL Win

USD scores 50 on the road to beat Dayton

When you watch the Toreros play football odds are you're going to see a lot of points scored. Dating back to the end of last year USD has scored at least 35 points in 10 straight games.

Saturday at Dayton they did even better, hanging half a hundred on the Flyers in a 50-38 win that was not really even that close. The Toreros were up 50-26 with 3:00 to play and the Flyers scored a pair of "let's just get this game over with and fly home" touchdowns.

Senior quarterback Reid Sinnett threw for 314 yards and three touchdowns with most of his targets going to fellow senior Michael Bandy, who hauled in nine balls for 194 yards and two scores. But the rushing attack was even more impressive.

Emilio Martinez carried to 20 times for 161 yards and a touchdown while Terrence Smith rolled up 139 yards and three scores on just 11 rushes. As a team USD rushed for 303 yards.

The W extends San Diego's streak to 33 straight Pioneer Football League wins. Next week they host Drake, the only other remaining unbeaten PFL team, at 2:00 at Torero Stadium.
