Harvard, one of the best academic institutions on the planet, was not very smart to send its football team to play the University of San Diego.
The Toreros beat the Crimson 31-23 on Saturday in USD's final non-conference game of the 2019 season. Toreros quarterback Reid Sinnett had a huge day, completing 22 of 30 passes for 384 yards and three touchdowns. All three scores were not short.
On the very first play from scrimmage Sinnett found wide receiver Michael Bandy for a 65-yard touchdown pass and a 7-0 lead. Bandy finished with eight catches for 159 yards. Sinnett also connected with tight end Dalton Kincaid on a 57-yard score and wideout Alex Spadone for an 18 yard TD. All of them came in the first half as the Toreros built a 24-0 halftime lead.
USD will take a week off the begin its quest for a 6th straight Pioneer League championship at home against Marist on October 5 for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff at Torero Stadium.
