Todd Mokhtari

Todd Mokhtari is President and General Manager of NBC 7/KNSD and Telemundo 20/KUAN. In this role, he oversees all operations of both stations including news, digital, sales, marketing/promotions, community affairs and operations/technology.

Mokhtari has more than 25 years of experience leading newsrooms in the country’s top 20 TV markets including Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento. Before being named President/GM of KNSD and KUAN, he worked as the Vice President of News at NBC4 Southern California in Los Angeles (KNBC), where he had been working since 2012. Under his leadership, Mokhtari successfully grew and restructured KNBC’s newsroom—in front and behind the camera—to build a highly qualified team that is well integrated in all facets of the news product. He led the redesign of the news studio, expansion of the investigative team and maximized news coverage to better serve the unique values of the Southern California market and its viewers. Mokhtari also grew the station’s award-winning weather team to be the most accurate meteorologist group in the market and developed the first-of-its-kind radar system that covers 40,000 square miles.

Prior to joining NBC4, Mokhtari served as news director at KIRO-TV in Seattle. During his time there, he invigorated the social media team that elevated the station to the number one market position for engagement on all social platforms. He also served as the assistant news director for the NBC-owned and operated station, KNTV-San Jose.

Mokhtari began his career as an intern at NBC’s affiliate, KCRA-TV in Sacramento, CA. He quickly progressed to become a writer and producer for the station’s morning newscast and later for the top-rated 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts

Mokhtari is a graduate of University of California, Davis and holds degrees in Political Science and Rhetoric and Communications.

A California native, he is a father, an avid golfer and local traveler.
