Thousands Line Up at Job Fair

Hundreds of people clamored to get into Golden Hall Thursday morning for the Urban League's annual job fair, and organizers expect to see thousands by day's end.

There are 45 employers and 40 booths to help people with their health and finances. In addition to jobs that are available now, there were also schools on hand talking about training for the future.

"For when the economy recovers and the jobs come back," said one organizer.

In addition to the Urban League job fair, SDG&E was present, offering sign-ups for a program that offers utility discounts to low-income and unemployed people. The Workforce Partnership is also hosting seminars on job search techniques, money-saving tips and free and low-cost job training.

The Resource Fair is being held Thursday, April 23 at Golden Hall, 202 C Street in Downtown San Diego from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
