This Man Tried to Kidnap Girl, Cops Say

Investigators released a sketch Thursday of a suspect in the attempted kidnapping of an eleven-year-old girl in the Black Mountain Ranch area.

The victim was walking in front of an apartment complex Tuesday at about 4:00 p.m. in the 14000 block of Via Fiesta when the suspect pulled up to the curb next to her and told her to get in his car, police spokesperson Mónica Muñoz said.

"The victim said there was a gun on the dashboard of the suspect’s car. The girl ran to get away from the suspect. The suspect followed the girl in his car but she was able to run to a nearby apartment and call the police," Muñoz said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 20-30 years old, 5 feet 11 inches, 220 pounds with black hair, and a black goatee. He was wearing a dark blue, short-sleeved shirt. The suspect’s car is a small, older two-door convertible; dark blue with lots of rust spots. The car also has a black convertible top.
