Terror at the End of a Gun

A jewel thief in La Jolla who terrified a clerk in a daring daylight robbery last week was caught on tape.

The robbery at Jewelry Passion took place Tuesday at about 5 p.m. The gunman, who is believed to be a Middle Eastern man in his late 30s to early 40s, entered the business in the 1250 block of Prospect Street and pointed a gun at the clerk. He made off with about 20 rings from the shop, police said.

The robber is clean-shaven and has short light-brown hair. He is 6 feet tall and weighs about 190 pounds. He was wearing a Chargers baseball hat with a yellow bolt on the front, a khaki button-down shirt and jeans, and black leather shoes. He had a stainless steel watch on as well.
