Teen Girl Arrested for Young Woman's Murder

A teenage girl is in custody for the stabbing death of a young woman in National City.

Police got a call around 1 p.m. Friday that two women were fighting in the 100 block of East Ninth Street. When officers arrived they found a female with multiple stab wounds. She was transported to UCSD and pronounced dead upon arrival. The suspect fled the scene.

Information from witnesses led police to arrest 18-year-old Antoinette Hendricks.

"Our detectives were watching a house on Home Avenue," said Boegler. "They made a traffic stop of a vehicle that left the house and we have a female in custody for the stabbing."

Even with Hendricks in custody, detectives are still trying to piece together exactly what happened.

"The case is rapidly evolving, the detectives are still talking to her," said Boegler. "I wouldn't be able to tell you at this point."
Investigators have not released the name or age of the victim.
