A report of a suspicious person at Grossmont College has been investigated and it appears to be unfounded, said San Diego County Sheriff's Department officials.
The report spread around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through social media and various sources.
According to lieutenant with the department, someone was driving by the campus and reported seeing someone with a gun in their car driving onto campus.
Deputies responded and checked the school but found nothing, officials told NBC 7.
NBC 7 has confirmed through the sheriff's department that there is no current threat to students.
