Suspect Search Forces Lockdown at Southwestern College's National City Campus

The Higher Education Center at the Southwestern College's National City campus was placed on lockdown while police searched for a potentially dangerous suspect Friday afternoon.

A college spokesperson said school is not back in session until Monday, so only some staff members were in the building at the time the lockdown was put in place.

The spokesperson said police did a room-by-room search of the building and did not find anyone or anything of concern.

All employees were escorted off of the property.

The National City campus is located at 880 National City Boulevard. The college's Chula Vista Campus was not put on lockdown.

The National City Police Department and Southwestern College police were at the scene.
