Summer Concert Calendars Fill Up With Slew of Shows

Live Nation just announced some more big shows, including Father John Misty with Jason Isbell, Coheed & Cambria with Mastodon and more

Y'all ready for this? On the heels of Cage the Elephant, Spoon, Beck, Heart, Joan Jett and Elle King all announcing San Diego shows this summer, Live Nation is hitting your pocketbook two-fold with Father John Misty, Jason Isbell, Rebelution, Coheed & Cambria, Mastodon and ... Chainsmokers!

Now, before you go freaking out about how expensive six separate concerts will be, keep in mind that a couple of these are a two-for-one deal -- more bang for your buck.

First up: Father John Misty with Jason Isbell at SDSU's Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre on June 6. It's an interesting pairing, with Grammy Award-winning Isbell coming from a more traditional alt-country background and Father John occupying that irrevent and comedic singer-songwriter space in indie, having been a former member of Fleet Foxes.

Next, Santa Barbara's Rebelution rock it reggae style at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre on June 15. This one is all reggae rock, all night, so you know San Diego's going to turn up, and turn up big.

On June 26, Coheed & Cambria AND Mastodon go heavy at Petco Park's Park at the Park. This is shaping up to be a monstrous doubleheader, with two of music's most beastly acts knocking it out of the park. Need we say more?

Well, yeah, because Chainsmokers, who recently collaborated with Blink-182 on a new song, are filling up Viejas Arena on Nov. 24. Think a little cameo from our hometown pop-punk greats is in the works? We shall cross our fingers and see....

Tickets for all of these shows -- with the exception of Rebelution -- go on sale to the general public on Friday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. You can snag Rebelution tickets on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. Or, if you're a mega fan, Father John Misty/Jason Isbell and Rebelution tickets are available for presale on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m., and Chainsmokers presales the day after at the same time.
