$34,000 was seized during a traffic stop on northbound Interstate-15 near Murrieta, Border Patrol agents said Wednesday.
Agents stopped a Toyota Previa minivan, driven by an illegal immigrant, about 2:30 p.m. Monday.
A California Highway Patrol officer and a K-9 searched the minivan. They found a plastic grocery bag full of money in the glove compartment. The money smelled like marijuana, agents said. They seized the money and the minivan.
The driver was processed for deportation.
