San Diego police were investigating a stabbing and chase that led to a rollover crash on the College Avenue off-ramp at westbound Interstate 8.
A man in his 30s told officers he was helping a friend purchase car speakers, and there was a disagreement.
The transaction was supposed to take place around 5 a.m. at the Denny’s restaurant on Alvarado Road.
The victim and his friend met four people at the restaurant and then followed them to the 7-Eleven on 70th Street to exchange money.
A fight occurred, according to police, and the victim was stabbed.
The group selling the speakers jumped into a white Nissan pickup truck and left the 7-Eleven.
So the victim jumped into his red car and followed, he told police.
The two vehicles collided on the westbound I-8 off-ramp at College Avenue, police said.
Two people from the white truck were injured in the crash. The stabbing victim was treated for injuries to his face and hand, police said.
