Shots Reportedly Fired at Driver on State Route 125

A driver told CHP officers that an unknown suspect fired shots at his vehicle on northbound SR-125 near Jamacha Road early Thursday

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) launched an investigation Thursday morning after a driver reported his car had been shot at on State Route 125 in San Diego’s East County.

According to the driver, an unknown suspect in a black BMW 7 Series pulled up next to him on northbound SR-125 at Jamacha Road and fired at his Ford Mustang, shattering one of the windows.

The victim pulled into a gas station off Fletcher Parkway in El Cajon, near Dallas Street, and called authorities to report the alleged incident. Just after 4:30 a.m., CHP officers were at the gas station with the victim taking a report of the alleged shooting.

No one was injured. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
