Home Invasion and Murder Suspect Arrested

Arren William Dangler, 28, was arrested Saturday in connection with a Spring Valley murder and Bay Ho home invasion robbery

Sheriffs arrested a suspect Saturday in connection with a recent home invasion robbery in Bay Ho and a murder in Spring Valley.

Authorities took 28-year-old Arren William Dangler into custody at 10th Street and E Street in downtown San Diego around 1:30 p.m.

Investigators had been searching for Dangler since May 30, when he was allegedly involved in the violent home invasion robbery of an elderly man in Bay Ho.

Investigators had also been seeking Dangler in connection with the suspicious murder of Brian Hammett, 29, who was killed and left in a driveway in Spring Valley on June 15.

Sheriffs said Dangler was booked into the San Diego Central Jail Saturday on one count of murder and a home invasion robbery charge. He’s also charged with grand theft auto.

Dangler is scheduled to appear in court for the home invasion robbery charges on Tuesday and for the murder charge on Thursday.
