Southwest Investigating Twitter Threats Targeting Flights

Several bomb threats targeting Southwest Airlines flights popped up on Twitter on Monday afternoon, including one targeting a San Diego-based flight.

Southwest Airlines officials are investigating the threats. No flight disruptions have been announced.

One user tweeted to Southwest Airlines a threat on a flight from San Diego to Dallas. Southwest responded: “The safety of our customers and employees is our top priority. Your info has been given to the appropriate authorities.

Southwest also responded to several other threatening tweets targeting other flights.

When reached for comment, Southwest Airlines issued a statement stating that officials are taking “any threat or alleged threat” “very seriously” and are working with authorities to ensure the safety of the flight.

A spokeswoman for the FBI in Dallas said agents are monitoring the situation and declined further comment.
