SoCal Sexual Assault Fugitive Arrested in San Diego

A Southern California fugitive sought by deputies for unlawful sexual assault on a minor was arrested in San Diego Monday, officials confirmed.

According to officials from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and Fugitive Task Force, Matthew Dwayne Greene was taken into custody at his girlfriend's house in San Diego's Southcrest community.

Last week, officials released a photo of Greene to the public in an effort to track his whereabouts, as the fugitive was also in violation of his probation. A no-bail warrant for Greene's arrest had been issued from Butte County, Calif., according to officials.

Officials said Greene is known to hang out in San Diego County, as well as Riverside County. In the past, he has also spelled his last name as “Green,” without the “e” on the end.

Officials said Greene is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who spotted him was asked not to approach Greene, but rather contact the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department at (858) 565-5200 to report his whereabouts.
