San Diego State University’s South Campus Plaza is a $143 million mixed-use student housing and retail development located on the college campus, between Hardy Avenue and Montezuma Road.

Last September, Trader Joe’s announced it would anchor the complex, offering students a place on campus to buy their groceries.

The Broken Yolk Café was announced on Sept. 8, 2016, as the newest tenant confirmed to open a location in South Campus Plaza.
Eureka!, a restaurant known for its burgers and American comfort food, will also run a location out of South Campus Plaza.

Customers will be able to park in a structure on site that will include 300 parking spots, according to the university.

Construction began in November 2014. The complex is slated to open in January 2017, with students moving into its residence halls by the 2017 spring semester.

The retail space portion of the plaza will be designed to serve both the campus and surrounding neighborhoods, the university says, “creating a pedestrian-friendly destination for shopping, dining and living.”
