A winter-like storm arrived in San Diego Friday bringing with it rain, cold temperatures and an expected two to six inches of snow in our local mountains.
On Friday afternoon, rain will be heavy at times according to meteorologist Jodi Kodesh.
A winter weather warning is in effect through Saturday morning calling for four to six inches above 4500 feet Kodesh said.
“Blowing wind, really gusty conditions will make for zero visibility at times,” she said.

San Diegans could hear thunderstorms Friday evening.
Residents in North County reported loud thunder on Friday afternoon, with some of it loud enough to set off car alarms. On Twitter, a few people also reported a water spout sighted in San Clemente.

The snow showers are expected to end by Saturday afternoon with a rapid snow melt beginning Sunday through Tuesday according to the National Weather Service.
A wind advisory was issued for all areas west of the mountains Friday. Twenty to 30 mph winds, with greater gusts possible.
For those going to the San Diego Padres game at Dodgers Stadium, Kodesh has a special ballpark forecast.
