A small brush fire sparked near Interstate 15 and State Route 78 in Escondido Monday.
One lane of eastbound SR-78 is closed due to the fire, according to Caltrans. A Sig Alert was issued at about 2:30 p.m.
Traffic is backed up to Sycamore Avenue, according to Sig Alert.
