Firefighters made quick work of a small brush fire that sparked underneath an overpass in Santee on Wednesday.
The fire was reported just after 10 a.m. along the San Diego River near state Route 52 at W. Hills Parkway, near the Carlton Oaks Country Club golf course.
Crews with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, the Heartland Fire-Rescue Department and the Santee Fire Department responded.
Firefighters quickly tempered flames and were mopping up the area within 30 minutes.
