1 Injured, 1 Arrested for Shooting in Mountain View

Shots were fired during a large fight in Mountain View, police said, leaving one person with gunshot wounds on Saturday night.

The San Diego Police Department responded to the area around Southlook Avenue's intersection with Imperial Avenue and Gilmore Street around 9 p.m.

Two groups got into a verbal argument that turned physical, Watch Commander Robert Heims said. During the fight, someone fired multiple shots into the crowd.

A 27-year-old man was shot in the back and transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Heims.

Everyone fled the scene after shots were fired, police said.

An 18-year-old man was later arrested in connection with the shooting. San Diego Police gang detectives are investigating the incident, according to Heims.
