After a partially decomposed body was discovered in Fallbrook, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department has opened up a homicide investigation in the man's death.
On Thursday evening, a person called 911 to report a dead person in a remote section of Via Del Gavilan Road near Ranchitos Road.
When deputies arrived to investigate, they found the remains of a partially decomposed Hispanic man.
The Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy on the body Friday and determined the man had died from blunt force trauma to his upper body. His death was ruled a homicide.
