Firefighters Rescue Worker Trapped Under Collapsed Shed

He was taken to Sharp Memorial and given CPR, Heartland Fire said

A man became trapped underneath a shed he was hired to demolish at a home in La Mesa when it collapsed on him Wednesday.

When medics arrived to the home on Johnson Drive at about 1:30 p.m., the worker had no pulse, said Heartland Fire and Rescue spokesperson Sonny Saghera.

Medics resuscitated the man, believed to be in his 30s, before he arrived at the Sharp Memorial Hospital.

It was not clear what condition the man was in.

Cal/OSHA was notified of the accident but said they would not be opening an investigation because the man was the owner of "Do Work Construction" and no employees were on site at the time of the accident.

No other information was available at this time.
