Seals Win 3rd Straight

San Diego completes back-to-back with road win

Playing professional sporting matches on back-to-back nights is not easy. Playing one night in San Diego and the next night in Vancouver makes it even more difficult.

The Seals handled it just fine, thank you.

San Diego’s shiny new National Lacrosse League team chased Friday night’s win over Calgary with an 11-10 victory over the Warriors in Canada. The Seals have won three straight games to run their record to 4-2, just percentage points behind the defending champs from Saskatchewan for 1st place in the Western Division.

Casey Jackson scored three goals over his first four games. Whatever he started eating for breakfast, he needs to keep it up. Jackson had a hat trick for the 2nd straight night. He scored twice in the 4th quarter, including the game-winner with 6:51 to play.

Veteran Garrett Billings added two goals and three assists and rookie sensation Austin Staats kept up his goal scoring barrage. Staats, who entered the game with the 3rd-most goals in the NLL, got two more.

Goaltender Frank Scigliano made 43 saves to preserve the win. The Seals get a little time to rest before their next game on February 8. That one is against Vancouver again but this time at Pechanga Arena, where the Seals are 2-0.
